That’s right, this backyard had a large pressure-treated wooden deck before Deck Plus added the new 3-season room. Although the existing deck was quite spacious, it was aging and time-worn. Additionally, the clients really wanted a space they could enjoy no matter the weather or season. Choosing a versatile outdoor room was the perfect answer.

About The Three Season Room

Deck Plus designed this outdoor room addition using the innovative Eze Breeze system. Eze-Breeze is a four-track sliding window system that can transform new or existing screened porches into a three-season room. The windows are custom-made to fit your particular specifications. The system adds a layer of protection against inclement weather, debris, insects, seasonal allergens such as pollen and much more! Each unit is comprised of four sliding, clear vinyl panels that slide up or down behind a screened outer panel. These panels can be fully opened to reveal 75% airflow within your outdoor room or fully closed to give you a 100% enclosure. This system can also easily be altered at a moment’s notice to include variable protection (or absence of) whenever the need arises — with many available configurations.

Eze Breeze frame colors are available in white, beige, bronze, pebble khaki, and black, For this porch, the homeowners chose black to enhance their monochromatic color scheme. In keeping with the latest in residential exterior home design, Deck Plus is getting more and more requests for both black and bronze panels.

Moving along to the roof, we used a gable roof for this 3-season room addition. Not only does the choice of gable roof match that of the home, but it also allows for higher ceiling heights within the new addition.

In the photo above, you will also note we designed the room using what is referred to as an “open gable end” allowing more natural sunlight to flow into the porch and into the home. We used windows on the gable end of this addition.

The interior of the space features a custom barrel ceiling. This unique design element adds tons of visual interest and aesthetics to the room.  The colors used to finish the interior of the room mimic those used on the exterior; black, white and warm wooden tones. This palette is on trend with what is hot in both exterior and interior designs.

What was originally the home’s brick exterior facade now serves as the focal point wall of the new room. Painted in a creamy white, it lends itself to cottage influences we see throughout the design. The client’s furnishings and decor nurture the appeal of the space — promoting relaxation and comfort.
