When Deck Plus originally met with these Matthews, NC homeowners to discuss a 360-degree change for their backyard, all they had was an existing deck. After an in-depth discussion covering what their “ideal outdoor living space” would look like, and the functions they wished to enjoy the space, we were able to give them all they yearned for, and more!

Our talented design team was able to “see the forest beyond the trees” — so to speak when we began planning this all-inclusive outdoor oasis for them. For starters, the homeowners wanted an area where they could enjoy both open-air and protected activities with their family and friends. They also love to prepare food and dine outdoors, so we needed to make that a priority as part of the redesign.

We began the transformation by removing their old deck to make way for a multi-faceted space with many elements. Once the old deck was removed, we added a gorgeous travertine patio with a custom seating wall surround. Within the patio space we added a stone wood-burning fireplace that also includes a wood-burning pizza oven. WOW!

Taking the outdoor living dreams for these clients a step farther, Deck Plus also designed and built a spacious three- season room. The room features a deck landing and stairway built from low-maintenance Trex decking in the color Lava Rock. The landing eases the transition from the 3-season into the patio below, and for continuity, we carried the Trex decking in the outdoor room.

The final result is an awe-inspired mix of separate outdoor structures that all work together as one big outdoor living room! We have provided a place to gather and conversate, cook, dine, stargaze in the evening and escape the rain, heat, or cold. This project truly provides everything an outdoor living enthusiast could ever need, or want.
