This may include lakeside spaces, pool spaces, or simply as just a way to extend another desirable outdoor area in their backyard.

Another factor is to overcome a difficult tie-in to your home. Often times the layout of a home will dictate whether or not the best area for your addition is away from the home. These can include windows, both 1st and 2nd story, and how they coincide with your anticipated design. It can also include the slope of your lot, soil conditions, and as of late and depending on which type of space you want to build, impervious surface limits. These are just a few factors that can influence the decision to build your new space as detached rather than attached.

This project consists of a freestanding deck, built to make the most out of the topography of this property. Look a little closer and you will see this space is much more than just a deck. It also includes a fan-style corner pergola and a custom privacy screen as well.

We built the deck using low-maintenance synthetic decking and a pressure-treated rail with black aluminum balusters topped off with a synthetic decking cap. One of the most unique features of this structure is also the innovative integration of hardscape elements within the space. The design details of this detached outdoor area make it truly stand out — no detail was overlooked.
