A Custom Fire Pit Brings S’more Outdoor Enjoyment!
Tis’ the season for outdoor entertaining. As Memorial Day marks the official kick-off to the outdoor living season for many, the backyard will become the central location for family and friends. Whether you are thinking of updating an existing outdoor living space or considering a new deck or patio from scratch, fire pits are a treasured amenity.
Why Consider A Fire Pit?
A custom hardscape feature such as a fire pit, outdoor fireplace or retaining/seating walls adds depth, dimension and texture to your backyard design. Fire pits, in particular, make a great gathering spot and they look amazing even when not in use. Add a few Adirondack chairs around to create an inviting space that naturally beckons you to sit down, and linger longer.
Deck Plus frequently designs fire pits as part of our signature outdoor living space combinations that may include a patio, porch, deck, or outdoor room configuration. Adding elements that speak to both open-air and protected spaces gives your backyard the feel of an outdoor living room. And, just like the interior of your home, each area can be utilized to enjoy specific functions — such as an outdoor kitchen for food prep and dining, and a custom fire feature for gathering and relaxing.
Ways To Enjoy Your Custom Fire Pit
There are many ways Charlotte-area homeowners can enjoy a fire pit addition. From stargazing to storytelling reminiscent of gathering around the campfire as a child or enjoying a glass of wine, the sky is the limit. The most beloved activity to enjoy is undeniably roasting s’mores. With this in mind, Deck Plus has compiled a list of the most popular recipes our customers have shared with us and enjoyed on their custom fire pits. From traditional to decadent we have received many variations of this famous fireside treat- enjoy!
Traditional S’mores Recipe
In case you don’t have this all-American favorite memorized by memory, all you need are graham crackers, marshmallows, and chocolate bars to make the magic happen. Roast the marshmallow to desired consistency over the fire using a fire pit skewer or fire safe stick. Simply add the roasted marshmallow to the graham cracker and top with a portion of the chocolate bar. Squeeze all ingredients between one graham cracker split in half, one atop the other. Melty, gooey goodness!
